“Eucharistic Ministers” assist the priests and deacons in distributing Holy Communion at Mass and other
liturgies. In order to become a Eucharistic Minister, you must be confirmed. The next step is to fill
out an application and have an interview with the pastor. After this is completed, ministers of Communion
attend a one-day training session sponsored by the diocese. Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled to serve
a few times each month at a weekend Mass. They are also asked to help out with Holy Day Masses, including
Christmas, Holy Week and Easter Liturgies.
